Why this firm exists.
The economy is being rewritten. Execution — the part of work that used to require headcount and months — is being outsourced to models. The people who know how to direct that capability can build almost anything with almost nothing.
Most teams sense this. Very few have a plan. They've read the headlines, run the pilot, felt the uneven results. What they're missing isn't the tool. It's the deployment: the workflow design, the guardrails, the habits, the custom layer that fits their business.
BlackBox Ventures is built to close that gap. Not by selling licenses. By sitting in the room with operators, founders, and teams and making the system real.
What we value.
Four pillars that shape how we work — and what we won't compromise on:
Practical implementation over theory
The point is not to explain AI in the abstract. The point is to make it useful in your actual work — whether that means a personal workflow, a team process, or a system inside your business.
Secure and responsible usage
AI should be implemented in a way that matches your comfort level, data boundaries, accounts, and risk tolerance. We help you use the tools responsibly, with clear guardrails and ownership in your hands.
Human judgment in the loop
The systems are getting better every day, but judgment still matters. AI can accelerate research, drafting, analysis, and execution — but humans decide what matters, what is true, and what ships.
Hand off capability, not dependency
The goal is not to make you dependent on BlackBox. The goal is to leave you smarter, more capable, and better equipped to keep building. This transition should feel empowering when approached the right way.
The human, the agent, and the system.
Andrew Verdi
Andrew started his career at Goldman Sachs in the TMT investment banking group, then joined the firm's AI-focused think tank in the early wave after ChatGPT's launch in late 2022. Today he works in sports-focused private equity while continuing to build practical AI systems, workflows, and tools around the way real work gets done.
BlackBox grew out of that hands-on experimentation. Andrew kept seeing the same pattern: smart, capable people knew AI mattered, but did not know how to turn it into actual leverage. BlackBox exists to close that gap — for individuals who want personal capability and small teams ready to operationalize.
Connect on LinkedInDale
Dale helps Andrew turn open loops into finished work: investment research, source-checked briefings, websites, dashboards, launch checklists, client prep, email drafts, and internal tools. He does not replace judgment; he carries the repetitive middle so Andrew can decide what matters, what is true, and what ships.

Where the name comes from.
"Black box" is what AI feels like from the outside. Inputs in, output out, no visibility into what happened in the middle.
We named the firm that on purpose. The promise is to open it — with you, for you, in your work. The opposite of the black box is not another explanation. It is a system you can actually use.
